10 Best Books of 2023

2023 was another year for the books—quite literally. Out of the several books and audiobooks I consumed over the past year, there were so many good ones that it was hard to choose just ten. Still, I wanted to share some of my favorites that made the biggest impact on me, whether it was because of the story itself, or the way it was written, or the message it conveyed. I also called out a few audiobooks specifically, as I’d recommend listening to those rather than reading them (the first, which includes a snippet from the author, and the latter two which are narrated entirely by the authors).

One honorary audiobook that didn’t make the “Top 10” but that I enjoyed nonetheless was Lauren Fleshman’s Good for a Girl: A Woman Running in a Man’s World. While the writing wasn’t exactly riveting, I loved her overall message, and it opened my eyes to the gender inequality in sports—even some things I had never thought about or noticed as a female athlete myself. This is another one that I’d recommend listening to since the story is narrated by Lauren herself.

So as we close out this year and kick off the next, here are some of my top picks from 2023.
